Brazilian mining giant Vale has chosen the Oniqua Analytics Suite (OAS), developed by Oniqua Enterprise Analytics, to manage its inventory management initiatives across its operations.
Vale, the world's largest producer of iron ore, went live with the software in December last year.
The miner employs more than 60,000 workers from its headquarters in Rio de Janiero.
The company's inventory management initiatives include the production of copper, iron ore and potassium as well as the management of port and railroad facilities and power generation plants.
According to Vale, the company's previous systems were not "sufficiently robust" enough to support the demands of its business.
When implementing the system, Oniqua had to integrate the OAS program with Vale's existing Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and other infrastructure applications.
