Swarf Tech has launched a range of PST spiral conveyors that are said to provide problem free handling for a wide range of materials and alleviate issues such as blockages caused by bridging and binding of stringy and thread like material.
Due to their increased capacity (because the voluminous central shaft has been eliminated) they are also very economical.
According to Swarf Tech, the conveyor can be inclined from 0 to 90 degrees vertical.
The conveyors also convey a greater volume / rpm because there is no centre shaft to take up valuable space
Threadlike materials do not bind on a centre shaft – because there is none.
The conveyors are also fully enclosed and dust free with minimum moving parts.
Typical materials that are handled are rejects from pulpers, wood chips, sawdust, pellets, sludge, granules, powder and foodstuff.
