ProQuip releases mining tyre coolant and sealer

  • Published: 19/04/2010

ProQuip has released the Amerseal mining tyre and coolant treatment for use in Australia.

The one step mining tyre treatment is a mix of ethylene glycol for cooling, with fibre based materials to seal punctures and prevent rim corrosion.

It is designed to remain effective for the life of the tyre.

The mining tyre coolant and sealant allows mining tyres to run at full capacity while remaining up to 20 degrees cooler.

The chemical additive seals leaky beads, is pH neutral, water soluble, works from minus 20 to close to 100 degrees and does not effect wheel balance.

Usage of the chemical does not void the tyre makers’ warranties.

Currently in use at a number of mines around the world, the duel coolant and sealer is inserted through the main valve into a tubed or tubeless tyre where it remains liquid with all the components in fixed suspension, even after the coating inside.

The result of this is the ethylene glycol coolant is efficiently spread throughout the inner tyre for maximum heat dissipation, with punctures up to 6mm quickly sealed.

On top of this, wheel corrosion is also avoided.

The coolant allows for longer working times with reduced downtimes.

The tyre maintenance treatment has seen extensive use in the US and China.
