PRI Australasia (PRIA) has been appointed a partner of Citipower and Powercor in the delivery of the Victorian Government’s AMI smart meter roll out.
PRIA’s smart, single-phase meter, the i-Credit 500, and the three-phase meter, the Sprint 200, have been chosen as AMI-compatible revenue metering devices.
The project involves the installation of in excess of one million meters throughout Victoria, contributing to making the State a leader in the reduction of carbon footprint, Victoria’s Minister for Energy and Resources Peter Batchelor said.
According to PRIA, the Smart, i-Credit 500 and Sprint 200 AMI-compatible meters are equipped with communication facilities that make them ideal for future SEN developments, being capable of operating in Wireless Mesh Networks.
The i-Credit 500 and Sprint 200 can communicate in Home Area Networks, PRIA said.
Being 4-quadrant devices, the PRIA Smart meters are designed to be suitable for import/export metering.
