Oxygen self-rescuers

  • Published: 29/05/2008

SkillPro Services will introduce a new range of self-contained, oxygen self-rescuers on Stand 7028 at QME 2008. The products, developed by French company Fenzy for use by miners, rescue teams and fire fighters, will include the OxyPro, a potassium superoxide (KO2) belt-worn, self-escape device of 30 minutes duration and the biomix rescue apparatus, a two-hour duration device which uses a mix of KO2 and compressed air.

According to the manufacturer, the OxyPro, which was designed to meet respiratory protective devices standard EN13794, is light and comfortable to wear and has low breathing resistance even after long periods of use.

Another feature of the OxyPro range is its negative pressure case-closing mechanism which removes the need for security seals.

The Biomix is a positive pressure decice incorporating two composite two litre, 300 bar compressed air bottles.
