Minesite vehicles bring comfort to business

  • Published: 18/12/2008

Pioneer North Queensland (PNQ) has invested in a fleet of Isuzu agitators.

According to PNQ, the trucks possess a ergonomic cab that is said to be lighter and more spacious inside.

At the heart of PNQ's FVZ 1400 agitator is the 6 cylinder Euro IV-compliant SiTEC Series II 295 engine. The vehicle produces over 221 Kilowatts (296 Horsepower) at 2,400 rpm.

Coupled to the 6-speed Allison automatic transmission, the new Isuzu FVZ makes it easy for even novice drivers to operate, PNQ has said.

This in turn benefits the business as it reduces the cost of maintenance due to wear and tear on the gear box.

Currently, PNQ has around seven Isuzu vehicles spanning three generations of F Series models specifically set up with agitator bodies. Agreements with PNQ and its contractors specify that the sub-contractors provide the trucks and PNQ supply the Agitator bowl and livery.

The PNQ trucks traverse about 34,000 kilometres a year in all conditions ranging from freeway driving, high engine hour building site work, through to rough unsealed roads.

The truck is serviced exclusively by Isuzu and is on an extended warranty of four years or 250,000 kilometres.
