Metal recycling technologies

  • Published: 06/06/2008

CMA Corporation will showcase its various technologies on Stand 6320 at QME 2008.

The company specialises in metal recycling services with activities including recovery, recycling, processing and testing of scrap metal, recycling of fluorescent tubes and lamps and the treatment of mercury waste, de-zincing of galvanised steel and manufacturing of non-ferrous ingots.

The company also specialises in demolition services through its demolition arm, CMA Contracting, using “unique engineered collapsion techniques” for safe large-scale industrial demolitions, resource sector plant deconstruction and site clearance with projects including steel works, cement plants, chemical plants, mine sites and commercial buildings.

Remediation is another service the company provides, with the aim to return industrial sites to a natural or reusable state by removing and treating contaminated soil or by capping and reinstating a site.

Finally, the company also provides asbestos removal services, often for facility abatement projects (for example, abandoned asbestos mines, steel beam insulation and water heaters) and for projects that involve both asbestos removal and contaminant concerns such as hazardous materials and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB), as well as plant closure projects including providing consulting services, estimates and budgets and practical site decommissioning, demolition, remediation, rehabilitation and environmental clean-ups.
