Longwall mining equipment on show

  • Published: 30/05/2008

Inbye Mining Services will be showcasing its range and achievements on stand 9021 at QME 2008.

The company is also inviting customers, potential employees and interested suppliers to visit its recently established Mackay workshop (55-57 Southgate Drive) during QME week.

The industrial site, acquired to service Inbye’s rapidly increasing Queensland activity, has been purpose built for the supply and overhaul of longwall mining equipment.

Last year Poland’s Kopex Group acquired 50% equity in Inbye, a move which means Inbye’s Australian-designed and manufactured longwall coal clearance products can be marketed globally.

As well, the acquisition of Tagor longwall roof supports means Inbye is now offering complete longwall in Australia.

Meanwhile, Inbye will also use QME to celebrate its successful tender for the delivery of Queensland’s latest longwall mining system.

This involves a complete longwall mining system at Carborough Downs Coal Mine along with a complete duplicate set of services and conveying equipment.

The mine’s longwall system will also include Australia’s first commercialised installation of the CSIRO’s landmark automation system for complete longwall face control (LASC).

With delivery required by mid-2009, the installation will give the Inbye team the opportunity to demonstrate its project management systems.

For Inbye, QME will also provide an opportunity to promote the unique features of its own longwall clearance system.
