ESCO Engineered Products Group (EPG) has launched its first legal Australian entity, ESCO Holdings.
The company’s first official employee in Australia, Johan Nienaber, will serve as director of sales.
Nienaber is tasked with developing ESCO’s business throughout the region.
Prior to joining ESCO, Nienaber served as general manager - mining for CQMS of Brisbane.
He also worked 15 years for Bucyrus International, most recently as the Australian managing director.
ESCO recently advised it would not renew or extend a license agreement with Bradken, who had manufactured and sold the ESCO products throughout Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
The Bradken agreement is scheduled to expire at the end of June 2011.
Once the agreement ends, ESCO will assume responsibility for sales and support to customers throughout the region for products covered under the license.
