Dugless 900 mini loader takes out awards

  • Published: 15/12/2009

The Dugless 900 mini loader has won the 2009 Bulk Materials Handling Award from London’s Mining Magazine.

The DUGLESS 900 is a remote-controlled, compact, crawler unit which was designed with the mining and bulk handling industries in mind.

It is designed to eliminate the need to manually clean conveyor spills.

Workers having to clean spills with shovels not only usually requires the conveyor to be shutdown, but also raises questions of worker safety.

At 560mm high the Dugless 900 is a, unmanned, remote-controlled digging and cleaning unit capable of safely maneuvering under low conveyor sections and other inaccessible places to remove spillage and blockages without any risk to workers or equipment, the company said.

It is designed to effectively reduce downtime and prevents drive machinery breakdowns.

Multiple options are available on the Dugless 900: including a personal proximity transmitter to help improve safety by preventing the machine from approaching; proximity protection cones that can be used to demarcate an area in which the machine can operate; and specially built trailers to transport the machine safely and effectively.

The 900 also won the Best Practice in OH&S Category in the Fourth Australian Bulk Handling Awards and was a Finalist in the Innovative Mining Solutions Category of the 6th annual Mining Prospect Awards.
