Cummins Power Generation releases low-range generator sets

  • Published: 16/12/2009

Cummins Power Generation has launched a new line of low-range generator sets, which the company says are designed to maximise performance and minimise environmental impact.

The units are powered by X 1.3 and X 2.5 engines, which are available in eight to 11 kVA configurations at 50 Hz and 17 to 28 kVA at 50Hz respectively.

According to Cummins, the generators have been engineered to deliver maximum power while still occupying a small space.

The range meets the most stringent EU legislation and can be used in prime and standby applications.

The generator sets feature the Cummins PowerStart 500 controller as standard and optional Cummins PowerCommand 1.1 digital technology to provide system integration and monitoring, control and protection.

The devices also feature the Cummins Excitation Boost System (EBS), a power enhancing technology that enables smaller sets to deliver the power and performance of larger models without increased running costs and fuel consumption.

The EBS also provides a one horsepower per kilowatt motor starting capacity and exceptional short circuit fault clearing.

Additional features include in-built fuel tanks, which provide customers with excellent fuel autonomy in excess of 30 hours at 75% load.
