Caterpillar has launched the XQ1250G natural gas mobile generator sets.
Rated for continuous operation at 1250kW 480/277 V 60Hz, the mobile generators are transportable natural gas power plants.
Designed for the 1MW market, the generators utilise a low emission G3516B engine with integrated exhaust after treatment.
The generator’s engine operates on low pressure natural gas (3-7ps) and comes with an active air to fuel ratio controller for varying fuel energy content.
The G3516B engine, fuel regulation components, control and distribution system, and cooling package are housed in a sound-attenuated 12 metre ISO container.
The XQ1250G mobile generator offers a fully integrated cooling and exhaust system, which can be connected to the natural gas supply line with load cables to ready the unit for operation.
The mobile generators are also designed for 100% spill containment of all engine fluids.
