Assembly Technologies launches JSM air hacksaw for underground mining

  • Published: 19/10/2009

Assembly Technologies is supplying the JSM, a new ATEX-approved air hacksaw from Cengar, which is designed for underground mining.

The saw can be used for cutting steel profiles, plates and pipes without generating sparks or heat, the company says.

According to Assembly Technologies, most of the external components are made from zinc alloy ZA12, steel or brass.

The JSM does not have any exposed aluminium or aluminium alloy components and is approved under the European ATEX directive II 2G T5 I M2, making it suitable for underground mines.

The unit features a low air consumption piston motor that runs at 600 strokes per minute.

The JSM also comes with a pipe clamp for up to 300 mm diameter pipes.
