Antec Engineering will launch stud-welded AVT Wear Studs at the 2010 Queensland Mining and Engineering (QME) exhibition.

The company says the studs are part of the ARCFIX range of stud-welding products and are designed to reduce wear on surfaces exposed to abrasion and extend machine life.

The studs form a barrier between the machinery and the material being moved.

According to Antec, their extreme abrasion resistance is achieved by applying high-chromium and high-carbon studs to machinery in close formation.

Wear studs are ideally suited for use on ground-engaging equipment across applications including the deep mining industry, open pit mines, quarries, mining maintenance shops, steelworks and ore preparation plants.

The company says, in contrast to wear plates, wear studs also offer permanent protection because they will not pop off even when buckets or plates buckle.

The wear studs comply with Australian Standards and are available in three specifications.

The units will be on display at stand 6011.
