THE Mining Industry Advisory Committee (MIAC) has released three mining draft Codes of Practice for public consultation and comment on the Resources Safety Division website.

The codes include: the Draft Code of Practice on Consultation, the Draft Code of Practice on Design of Mobile Plant, and the Draft Code of Practice on Operation of Mobile Plant.

The Codes of Practice will be subject to a three-month consultation period, with comments to be received to Resources Safety Division by COB Monday 14 January 2008.

Drafts are available at: www.docep.wa.gov.au/ResourcesSafety.

MIAC was established in April 2005 under section 14A of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 as an advisory body on matters relating to occupational safety and health in the mining industry.
