WA approves Balmoral South iron ore project

The Western Australian Government has given a conditional approval for Australasian Resources' Balmoral South iron ore project.

The mine is expected to produce up to two billion tonnes of magnetite iron ore at a rate of up to 80 million tonnes per annum and produce pellets and concentrate for export at up to 24 million tonnes per annum.

According to Australasian, the mine has a projected 25 year lifespan.

Australasian’s subsidiary, International Minerals, has the contractual rights to mine on the tenement, which is held by Mineralogy.
