THE 2007 Mining Industry Skills Centre (MISC) Conference and Awards Dinner will take place from 12 to 14 September at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event will focus on the future of innovative and sustainable training solutions for the Australian resources sector, according to the MISC.

The Conference is themed ‘Creating a vision for 2020: Planning for an effective, sustainable workforce’ showcasing speakers with experience in planning, training and skilling in the resource sector.

Prior to the 2007 Conference an ‘Industry Hot Topics Forum’ will take place on 12 September which will examine a hypothetical on-site accident and discuss how training techniques can assist in the prevention of accidents.

“The Industry Hot Topics Forum is designed to get people thinking about technology and innovation in training and the use of simulation technologies will help us to achieve this,” Mining Industry Skills Centre’s CEO Mr Derek Hunter said.
