Telstra talks up new mobile network

TELSTRA is encouraging the mining industry to enjoy the potential productivity benefits of its Next G network as new preliminary reserach found respondents using thje network received an average 9.3% increase in their business productivity.

The study, compiled on behalf of Telstra and Ericsson by economist firm Econtech, found one company operating in the mining industry had acheived a 13% per cent productivity boost after moving their wireless services from the CDMA network to the Next G network.

The Telstra Next G network replaces the old CDMA mobile network which is scheduled to close 28 January 2008.
