Sundance victims come home

The bodies of the Sundance crash victims could be in Australia as soon as next week.

Acting Sundance chairman George Jones said all the bodies have been recovered from the crash site and flown to The Congo’s capital, Brazzaville, for identification.

The bodies are likely to be returned to Australia, the UK and the US by late next week, he added.

Jones will escort the victims back to Australia.

“It's a long process. I'm planning to go there and to come back with them - I feel that is a personal responsibility I have,” he said.

According to the West Australian, one of Ken Talbot’s sons may also accompany the bodies back to Australia.

The victims, who consisted of the majority of the Sundance board, died on 19 June when the plane went down in thick jungle on route to the Sundance iron ore project.

While the plane’s black box and GPS unit have been recovered, but the cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
