THE Government of South Australia (Department of Trade & Economic Development) will promote opportunities in South Australia for both miners and mining industry suppliers on Stand B1047 at AIMEX 2007.

The Government’s support for exploration through its Plan for Accelerating Exploration (PACE) has attracted an international array of companies from across the industry, bringing a dramatic increase in exploration activity. In the year to March 2007, mineral exploration was valued at $233.2 million, more than double the figure for the previous 12 months.

The benefits have flowed on to suppliers, who are also flourishing in a supportive economic and regulatory environment. Local supplier Catcon won a contract with Oxiana’s Prominent Hill development that provided $25m of work.
