Shipment nears for FMG's first ore

Fortescue Metals Group's (FMG) Pilbara Iron Ore and Infrastructure Project is on track for first ore shipment in mid-May, according to the company's Monthly Construction Report - February 2008.

During February there were no lost time injuries (LTIs) which represents a continuation of 6 months of no LTI’s.

The port works are 93% complete. The rail program is 91% completed. Mine construction is 84% complete.
