The Queensland Resources Council has welcomed initiatives of the Queensland Government to reduce friction between resource and farming interests in Queensland.
According to the chief executive of the Queensland Resources Council Michael Roche, landholders, particularly in the Darling Downs and Surat Basin who have not experienced explorers seeking access to their land before are rightly wanting to know the facts about their rights and responsibilities.
“The QRC welcomes the information sessions to be conducted by the government, which hopefully will go a long way to providing the objective information farmers need, information which until now has not been easily accessible,” Roche said.
The public information sessions will start in Roma on October 30, moving to Injune, Miles, Wandoan, Dalby and Felton.
