Pirtek has announced a partnership with Komatsu that will see the hydraulic hose company supply Komatsu hoses.
The arrangement has seen the Australian company receive the intellectual property rights to design of Komatsu’s hoses.
All hoses and fittings will be manufactured exclusively for Pirtek by Bridgestone in Japan.
This partnership will have Pirtek assembling and supplying Komatsu hydraulic hose equipment for the Australian and New Zealand markets.
After the roll out within Australia and New Zealand, Pirtek is looking at continuing the growth in South Africa and potentially Chile.
Following the implementation of this, Pirtek expects to have OE hose delivery as well as installation on site within 24 hours 90% of the time, and within 72 hours maximum.
Each Pirtek service centre and mobile unit will have the correct components to assemble Komatsu hydraulic hoses.
The ten year deal is worth more than $100 million, with Pirtek expecting it to capture 20% of the total hydraulic hose market within five years.
Pirtek also supplies the underground mining sector with hydraulic hoses for longwall shearers and roof support vehicles.
