The initial drilling program completed at the Mt Vetters Project in August has failed to return significant levels of gold, nickel or other base metal anomalism, Proto Resources said.
Proto Resources and Mt Vetters announced the assay results from the maiden Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program yesterday.
A one metre sample with 0.256 g of gold per tonne was returned from a four metre composite sample assaying 0.011 g per tonne.
Three RC holes were drilled by a truck mounted Hydco 350 drill rig from Ranger Drilling Services to a total depth of 438 m.
The companies will carry out further work at the project to evaluate a uranium-thorium airborne radiometric anomaly in the south-western project area.
Mt Vetters is located 30 km north-east of Kalgoorlie and is five kilometres to south of the Black Swan Komatiite Complex, host to the Silver Swan nickel mine.
It is also close to the Black Swan and Cygnet deposits and the Kanowna Belle Gold Mine.
