BALDOR has released an automated motion controller for servo and stepper motor axes, with onboard I/O and fieldbus connectivity.

The module offers control of four stepper motor axes and I/O for materials handling and general machine control functions, and offers a standalone solution that can be used for machinery applications.

The product supports servo loop closure times of 100 microseconds on the four main axes, with a six-term closed loop control for accurate positioning.

A separate encoder input may be used as a 'master' axis, and the servo axes can be programmed to perform actions that follow the master at a synchronised interval.

The unit’s four stepper axes provide pulse and direction output at up to 500 kHz.

The I/O comprises 20 digital inputs, 12 digital outputs, two 12-bit differential analogue inputs, a fieldbus port, and two serial ports.
