A man who has spent close to 25 years working on graders has clarified his feelings on the machine with a large grader tattoo.
Ian Branson, who is a final trim operator for Karratha based mining contractors Gunther Civil, got inked with a large Caterpillar grader across his bicep to demonstrate his love for the machine, in particular his M Series motor grader.
"I've wanted to get a tat for a long time and I wanted something with meaning," Branson explained.
"I really like it because [the grader is] so easy to operate.”
He took a photo of the grader with the company logo on it to and three hours later, he was sporting a unique work of art on his right bicep.
Since getting the tattoo he says "everyone who has a look at it says ‘wow.’ It’s so different."
He added that his fellow grader operators are fans of the ink.
"It’s individual – it’s kind of like having a toy on your arm."
Australian Mining has previously looked at mining related tattoos..
