THE Minerals Council of Australia, Victoria Division, is confident of a continuing constructive working relationship with Victoria’s new Premier John Brumby and with his Cabinet.

Chris Fraser, Executive Director, Victoria of the Minerals Council of Australia said the MCA was confident of the strong commitment of the Victorian Government to the continuing development and growth of the Victorian minerals industry.

“We look forward to continuing the close and productive working relationship with the Minister for Energy and Resources, Peter Batchelor. We also look forward to working with the new Minister for Regional and Rural Development, Jacinta Allan”.

The Victorian minerals industry continues to grow with record private investment in minerals related projects and expenditure on mineral exploration.

“Victoria is an active participant in the global minerals “super cycle of growth” and the continuity and confidence in as well as commitment to, sound policies of the Victorian Government is important for that growth to continue”,” Fraser said.
