Boart Longyear wins 'Vendor of the Year'

BHP Billiton has awarded Boart Longyear the Olympic Dam ‘Vendor of the Year’ prize.

Boart Longyear General Manager of Asia Pacific Drilling Services Diane Bettes said it is pleased to have received the award from BHP in recognition of its safety programs and client services.

Bettes went on to say “this award is the result of the hard work and dedication of our employees at Olympic Dam." We are looking forward to continuing to perform critical drilling services for BHP Billiton at Olympic Dam in South Australia, as well as at other locations throughout the world, she added.

A BHP spokesperson has stated that Boart has been operating at Olympic Dam for approximately a decade, and in 2009 showed admirable performance in key evaluation criteria.

These criteria included safety, community, customer responsiveness and performance in underground drilling.
