Supplier lends technology an ear

A SUPPLIER of an award-winning exhaust air recycling system is keen to promote the technology to the mining industry.

The device can reduce noise levels by 50%.

Bruce Mckinley from Global Ears told Australian Mining that the Exhausted Air Recycling System (E.A.R.S.) reduces energy costs and cuts carbon emissions whilst improving workplace health and safety.

The system which won an OH&S WorkSafe award for ‘Best Solution to a Health and Safety Risk’, provides a closed loop between the air compressor and the air tool by capturing the tool’s exhausted air and returning it to the manifold fitted to the compressor.

The device reduces noise levels by approximately 50% in enclosed work areas.

With the capture of exhausted air at the tool, all the noise and contaminants normally ejected next to the user are sent back to the compressor via filters, removing tool lubrication oil and foreign matter in the air.
