Metallised carbon for high temps

Metallised Carbon has released two new grades of high temperature mechanical materials which operate in difficult environments where oil and grease lubrication cannot be used.
The Metcar grades M-343 and M-346 are used in high-temperature applications, and are said to have good wear resistance and enhanced lubrication for bearings and thrusters in submerged and dry environments.
The metallised carbon can be used in dry applications.
The metallised carbon materials can be used in temperatures up to 371 degrees Celsius, and are designed for medium to high loads.
Submerged applications include bearings, seal rings for water-handling pumps, fuels, hydrocarbons, mild acids, alkalis, liquefied gasses, dyes, solvents and heat transfer fluids.
It can also be used in dry applications such as seal rings for rotary steam joints, radial seal rings for compressors and blowers, components for high temperature valves and piston rings for gas compressors.
According to the manufacturer, Metcar bearings are self-lubricating, non-galling, dimensionally stable and have high compressive strength.
