Resin firing system
Wilco Technologies will unveil its Trajectaflex resin firing system on Stand 4005 during the 2008 Goldfields Mining Expo (GME).
The Trajectaflex Resin Firing System is a steel nozzle which, according to the company, uses a spring design to shoot resin capsules into a pre-drilled bolt-hole for resin set bolting.
Used for underground strata control, the system has been trialled and tested at BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam mine since February 2005, and is now in full-time use there.
The system comprises a tension spring with an adaptor at each end, a nylon inner tube and an exchangeable tip with exhaust slots.
The Trajectaflex resin firing nozzle is fixed at the end of a jumbo rail mounted onto an independent slide, allowing it to be extended and retracted for easy bolt-hole location.
Resin capsules are loaded into a manifold located at the operator’s platform.
They are then shot with air pressure via a delivery line along the jumbo boom passing through the nozzle and into the pre-drilled bolt-hole.
The company says that with less operator movement on and off the platform, the system reduces fatigue and the chance of injury.
The spring design allows for easy bolt-hole location as the nozzle will flex and self index.
