New version automation platform here soon

Frank Noakes

Mitsubishi Electric Australia will release its latest programmable automation control platform at this year’s Automate Exhibition.

The new FX3u platform will include: motion control using Mitsubishi’s own SSCNet technology, and multiple networking capabilities including Ethernet. The FX3u is expandable up to 384 input/output points and has an optional plug-in display module.

The company says the FX3u offers more memory than its predecessors with 64,000 steps and 128KB RAM, a 500% faster scan time than previous series and advanced functionality such as high-speed counters and simple 3-axes positioning.

The platform introduces the new concept of a flexible configuration with left-hand side bus connection for direct CPU access that can significantly reduce set-up time.
