Mining communication goes on show

Austdac will exhibit a broad range of equipment on Stand 1074 at QME 2008. Products to be featured include conveyor and longwall systems, safety transmitters and relays, gas detection equipment, lighting, communications systems, cap lamps and self-contained rescuers.

On show will be Austdac’s AS61508 SIL (safety integrity level) 3-rated conveyor systems which have both audio and visual pre-start alarms, emergency stop, remote isolation, fault indication and lockout position on conveyor belts more than 8 km long.

Also on show will be the company’s solutions for non-IS conveyors and longwalls, conveyor and longwall systems equipment including intelligent BMAS with LCD screens, combined pullswitch and conveyor stations (with or without keypads), standalone pullswitches and lockout and tailend units.

Austdac’s Silbus safety transmitters and relays for upgrading existing conveyor systems to SIL 3 and gas detection equipment including smoke detectors, CH4, Co2 and infra-red sensors and IS vehicle gas monitoring equipment will be on show.

The company’s IS and non-IS LED cap lamps which have no bulbs to replace, an emergency LED and 12 hours use, lightweight CSE and Afrox self-contained self-rescuers will be on display with staff on hand to discuss the extensive range of other products, including their lighting range and their surface-to-pit bottom communication systems.
