Miners breathe easy

Jessica Darnbrough

RS components has launched a smoke absorber moulded from a non-sloughing static-dissipative plastic.

The fan is designed to remove noxious substances such as salycylic acid, pinene and hydrogen chloride, found in evaporated smoke that is generated during high temperature, flux-related applications.

The fan is fully adjustable, quiet, efficient and operates quietly — only 44dBA at 2 meters with 37 cubic feet per minute airflow.

Standard activated carbon filter (PN: A1001) absorbs up to 80 percent of the odours from the air and is easy to replace.

The fan is mounted on a wire frame, adjustable tilt-stand with rubber sleeves for non-skid bench-top use and comes with three filters, on/off switch, and 3-wire cord.
