A Brisbane-based manufacturing company has developed Australia’s first high definition Industrial weatherproof LCD.
CEAD developed the LCD in accordance with the tough Australian conditions found in industrial workplaces such as mines.

CEAD’s business manager Richard Matyear told MINING DAILY that the LCD was totally sealed against moisture, humidity, dust and insects.
“The display face is made from 6.4 mm thick, laminated, anti-glare glass,” Matyear said.
“The high definition Industrial weatherproof LCD enables high quality communication with workers in large places such as wet areas, wash bays, workshops, stock warehouses, security stations and elsewhere on sites regardless of the locations and environmental conditions.
The LCD comes in a range of sizes, from 101cm to 165cm and has a 178 degree viewing angle.
They are also fitted with thermostatic cooling protection to ensure life long operation.
“We launched the product about 3 months ago and it has already been trialled by the Queensland Department of Mines and Energy who have given it their seal of approval,” Matyear said.
“One of the biggest advantages of the LCD display is that it is completely sealed so that not even salt air can get into it.
“Ideally, in the coming months we would like to get it into the market and also complete further testing with touch screen technology.”
