Industrial solution for environmental problem

Jessica Darnbrough

Rittal has launched the MicroTCA Cube enclosure, the company’s first direct solution for an industrial environment-based MicroTCA.OR1.0 specification.

Manufactured from stainless steel, the MicroTCA Cube is sufficiently stable for use in industrial environments and has compact enclosure dimensions (307 x 118 x 285/319 mm).

The device comes with an integrated AC/DC power pack that has a 250 W output.

According to the company, this provides for the space-saving installation required by machine controllers and for businesses which operate automation technology applications.

The MicroTCA Cube can be assembled in a variety of ways including mounted on a support rail fitted directly on the enclosure’s mounting plate or straight onto the machine itself.

This can be performed with the aid of the adaptor plates available as accessories which have integrated drilled keyholes or brackets for mounting directly on support rails. Both can be affixed to the enclosure’s rear or side panel.

The cube has seven slots, including six AMC and one MCH.

In the device, the AMC is inserted directly in the backplane.

Systems with a high operating capacity and availability can be created in a very small space.

Another feature is reliable heat dissipation which is ensured by a plug-type fan module with two axial fans and a filter.

The enclosure is fully assembled, fitted with a backplane, wired and tested.
