The Australian Infrastructure Strategic Roadmap, used to outline the infrastructure needed over the next five to ten years, has been released by the Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research Kim Carr.
Developed by the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research and the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy committee in consultation with the research community and State and Territory governments, the roadmap indicated that collaborative funding was needed.
The report also concluded that increased emphasis should be place on eREsearch infrastructure, as information and communication technology underpins all areas of research and is an important enabler of collaboration between researchers within Australia and overseas.
