Flowmeters for the water industry

ABB has announced the launch of a new range of flowmeters specifically targeted at the water, waste water and sewage markets.

The WaterMaster sensors incorporates and octagonal sensor design which, according to the manufacturer, improves flow profile and reduces up and down stream piping requirements.

Using a higher excitation frequency combined with advanced filtering, WaterMaster improves measurement accuracy by reducing fluid and electrode noise.

The sensors are designed with a robust construction to ensure a long, maintenance-free life under difficult conditions experienced, and are submersible, IP68, NEMA 6P, as standard.

All sizes of the WaterMaster are buriable, which means installation merely involves excavating to the underground pipe, fitting the sensor, cabling to the transmitter and then backfilling the hole.

The sensors feature a backlit graphical display which can be rotated through 270 degrees without the need for any tools.

Digital Signal Processing enables real time measurements for increased reliability, the transmitter to separate the real signal from the noise which provides high quality outputs.
