Advantech has launched a compact, high performance addition to the top of the ARK-3000 range.

According to the company, the ARK-3399 is said to offer flexibility to embedded application developers because of its improved storage speed and reliability.

The ARK-3399’s low-profile, extruded aluminum chassis is optimized for Intel Core Duo 1.66GHz / Core 2 Duo 1.06GHz / Celeron M 1.06GHz processors.

The Intel 945GM chipset supports a CF card up to 8GB and 2GB DDR2 memory, and is said to offer improved graphics and increased I/O bandwidth over previous chipsets.

According to the manufacturer, the ARK-3399 supports dual display mode for multi-media applications, with capacity for VGA and LVDS (up to 48-bit) as independent displays.

It delivers high data transmission speed with GigaLAN, and outstanding system performance through Serial ATA and CompactFlash Types I and II, plus rich I/O for expansion: five USB 2.0, two COM ports (1RS-232 + 1RS-232/422/485), and 8-bit DIO.
