Dust under control

DUST filtration supplier Donaldson Australasia is assisting the quarrying and mining industries to maximise profits significantly by trapping – and later reclaiming – the fine dusts that are normally lost during processing.

The company’s cost effective dust control and reclaim solutions utilises collected data collected to show the total weight of dust extracted through an effective dust collection system to be between 1.5% and 2% of the total throughput.

Without any dust control, at least 1% of total throughput is lost to the surrounding environ; a staggering 2.5 tph on a 250 tph quarry.

The three tier functional application of Donaldson’s tailored dust collection systems reduces dust emissions to levels that meet or exceed the most stringent health, safety and environmental legislation, reclaims fine crusher dust for resale to provide a desirable return on the investment, and thirdly it supersedes water usage and costly suppressing agents such as citrus foam.

Donaldson’s range of collection systems provide the complete de-dusting and reclaim solution for applications such as conveying, feed chutes, crushers, transfer points, screens, truck dumps, milling, and silo venting – across all the typical dust types.
