Sandvik Mining and Construction NZ division manager Colin Spann said distributing Sandvik crushing and screening products through Rocktec would give a number of advantages to both companies, as well as to customers.
“Rocktec has always offered package solutions to its customers, from the initial engineering design, through to the installation,” he said.
“In the past, we have been supplying the equipment components of these packages, and Rocktec has been installing and commissioning them.
“The logical next step has been for Rocktec to take over the entire sales, distribution and support functions for these product lines.”
Not covered under this agreement are the Sandvik-owned Extec and Fintec product ranges.
Sandvik Mining and Construction NZ will continue to provide sales, distribution, spare parts and support for Sandvik underground hard rock and soft rock mining equipment, surface drills, exploration equipment and materials handling products and service.
Sandvik Rammer rock breakers and attachments will continue to be distributed by Digga Holdings.
Rocktec’s chief executive officer Rick Johnson said bringing the Sandvik line of crushing and screening equipment into Rocktec’s product offerings allowed the company to offer a full range of solutions to its customers in NZ.
“Sandvik equipment is recognised throughout the world as a high-quality range of equipment, and we are very pleased to be able to promote and support it,” he said.
“Our ability to include these Sandvik products as part of our solutions to customers means we can now offer them a full product line.”
