Rockwell Automation has launched the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix L23 controller, designed to extend the functionality and flexibility of Rockwell Automation’s Logix control platform to small machine-level control applications.
The CompactLogix L23 leverages the control engine, development tools, network and operator interface technologies, and communications services of the Logix control platform.
According to the company, users are able to move seamlessly from one control application to another with no additional program development or training.
The CompactLogix L23 supports advanced Integrated Architecture features including alarms and events, and drive integration, which are managed via a dedicated human-machine interface (HMI) or a separate programming package.
Featuring an integrated CPU, power supply and on-board I/O all in a compact housing, the controller is equipped with 512 kB of memory, and can accommodate up to three continuous, periodic or event tasks and four programs.
The CompactLogix L23 can also accommodate up to two Compact I/O or communications cards for further operational flexibility.
