Boost for science skills

THE Queensland Resources Council (QRC) and the CSIRO are developing minerals and energy sciences education, careers and skills initiatives.

Both organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote science careers, attract and retain women in the resources sector, and promote science in Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA) schools.

The 18 QMEA schools in Queensland provide direct links between school and the resources sector, and pathways into resources-sector careers, according to the QRC.

The academy is an initiative of the QRC and the Queensland Government’s Department of Education, Training and the Arts.
