Aluminium outdoor enclosure

Jessica Darnbrough

Rittal has launched an aluminium outdoor enclosure optimised for telecommunications and industrial applications.

The CS New Basic is a single-walled aluminium enclosure with a IP 55 protection rating offering a high level of EMC protection and cable entry.

Organisations can choose from a height of 800 or 1200 mm and depth of 400 or 500 mm.
Organisations can choose from a height of 800 or 1200 mm and depth of 400 or 500 mm.

According to the company, the corrosion protection offered by the aluminium base makes the CS New Basic ideal for applications with minimal installed heat loss or passive interior installation.

The enclosure comes with a range of system accessories, allowing organisations to configure the product for their own individual industrial and telecommunications applications.

The enclosure has a removable rain canopy, made from a single sheet of edged steel plate, and has all round ventilation louvers.

Eyebolts on the interior of the canopy allow the completely assembled unit to be lifted by crane. The open base frame may be covered with gland plates.

An optional concrete plinth can be used for cable entry and securing the stability of the enclosure.

The enclosure interior is protected from unauthorised access by 2-point locking via swing lever handle and a lock cylinder.

The enclosure is available in a single door version 600 or 800 mm wide or as a 1200 mm wide double door.
