The cap lamp uses lithium-ion battery technology that is said to provide a long duration battery life for a fraction of the weight of older lead-acid powered cap lamps.
Business development manager Denis Kent told Australian Mining the cap lamp benefits were immediate.
“This cap lamp is very personal. Within its sealed casing is a Radio Frequency Identification tag (RFID) which helps mine operators know where their miners are at all times as well as a two way radio which is essential but often overlooked,” he said.
The cap lamp can be retrofitted to charging racks with minor electrical modifications.
